This thread is for the submission of map claims. Simply post where on the map you would like to have your country, along with the name and location of your capital and two or three other major cities. The cartographer will try his best to accommodate your request, however it would be infinitely more helpful if you posted a rough sketch of where you want to be placed.
-------
When placing a map claim, keep in mind that the continent is roughly the size of Europe, and Emburia is roughly the size of France or Spain. Also try to keep your claim reasonable, and remember that population size has no correlation with geographical size, so having a large population doesn't mean you need a large geography. In fact, large claims will more likely be granted to nations with smaller populations, under 100 million people.
A place on the map is required before you can start roleplaying, although if you make a claim that doesn't overlap with another claim, you can start roleplaying as if you have been approved. However it is probably best if you waited until approval, in case your claim is rejected for some reason (such as too large a claim).
Climate is of course important when choosing your location, so I will try to briefly describe the climate of Eurydice. Overall the climate is temperate, not unlike Europe. The northern portion of the continent has a climate more characteristic of northern Europe, with harsh winters and mild summers. The western portion is warmer and more arid, dominated by shrublands and grasslands, The southern and eastern coastline along the mountain are more characteristic of a Mediterranean climate, such as is found in Italy, southern France and Spain. The mountains are dominated by boreal climates, with more extreme winters and summers, and the highest peaks are located in the southern mountain range.
The island off to the west is actually named, called Ilythia, and has a climate not unlike that found in the British isles. The peninsula extending out from the east is part of a continent called Caelia, and has a climate like the rest of the norther Eurydice, if a little warmer and humid.
